Infrastructure Development

Reliable and resilient infrastructure is essential for community development, access to services, and sustainable economic growth. Our Infrastructure Development thematic area focuses on constructing, rehabilitating, and maintaining community, educational, and public facilities that meet the needs of vulnerable populations in Afghanistan.

Our Infrastructure Development
Interventions

School and Educational Infrastructure

We construct and rehabilitate schools, classrooms, and community learning centers, ensuring safe, inclusive, and child-friendly learning environments. Interventions include provision of furniture, sanitation facilities, water systems, and solar-powered lighting.

Health and Nutrition Facilities

We build and upgrade health centers, maternal and child health units, and nutrition facilities to improve access to essential health services, especially in remote and underserved communities.

WASH and Sanitation Infrastructure

We design, construct, and maintain water supply systems, latrines, handwashing stations, and drainage systems in schools, health centers, and communities to improve hygiene, sanitation, and water access.

Community and Public Infrastructure

We develop community infrastructure such as roads, footbridges, markets, community halls,

and emergency shelters to strengthen resilience, mobility, and social cohesion.

Climate-Resilient and Sustainable Infrastructure

We integrate climate-resilient designs and environmentally sustainable materials into all infrastructure projects to ensure durability, reduce disaster risk, and mitigate environmental impact.

Technical Support and Capacity Building

We provide technical guidance, local workforce training, and community engagement in planning, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure to ensure sustainability and ownership.

Monitoring, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance

We implement robust monitoring, quality control, and maintenance systems to ensure that infrastructure meets safety, functional, and technical standards over the long term.
