HOME / Emergency Response, Support for Refugees and IDP
Humanitarian emergencies, conflict, natural disasters, and displacement continue to affect vulnerable populations across Afghanistan and the region. Our Emergency Response and Support for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) thematic area focuses on delivering timely, life-saving assistance while promoting dignity, protection, and resilience. We adopt an integrated, needs-based approach to ensure displaced populations and host communities have access to essential services, protection, and sustainable recovery opportunities.
Rapid Humanitarian Response
Support for Internally Displaced Persons
We support refugees, returnees, and cross-border displaced populations through reintegration assistance, livelihoods support, education access, and basic service provision to facilitate safe, dignified, and sustainable return and reintegration.
We provide emergency water supply, sanitation facilities, hygiene kits, mobile health services, and disease prevention campaigns to reduce public health risks in displacement and disaster settings.
We ensure continuity of learning for displaced and crisis-affected children through temporary learning spaces, distribution of education kits, back-to-school campaigns, and psychosocial support services.
We implement child protection services, gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), and referral systems to safeguard the rights and well-being of vulnerable individuals.
